The mission of CAMP Pag-Ayo, Inc. is the pursuit of the following principles:
Create projects and programs that promote behavior change communication that focuses on stigma reduction through the use of the arts.
Develop excellent and committed culture and art advocates who are actively honing their crafts, and promulgating arts with stigma-reduction messages.
Utilize arts and culture as an advocacy tool to support the members of the community who are stigmatized and discriminated against and promote it to the general public.
CAMP's program objectives focus on utilizing the arts for stigma reduction and community empowerment. They include:
Capacity Building Training: Create and implement training programs that emphasize stigma reduction through arts, including topics like Organizational and Program Development, Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Proposal and Technical Writing, Behavior Change Communication (BCC), SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity & Expression, Sexual Characteristics), HIV and AIDS 101, Mental Health, the Arts and other relevant areas.
Art Activities: Conduct quarterly art activities focused on stigma reduction, such as art exhibitions (both live and virtual), competitions, and workshops in various art forms (painting, digital photography, filmmaking, acting, creative writing, dance, etc.).
Participation in Stigma Reduction Activities: Engage in national and local stigma reduction events like World AIDS Day, International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, LGBT Pride March, and mental health awareness activities.
Support for Emerging Artists: Screen and invite potential art advocates for membership and further training, helping them develop their skills and advocacy.
Mentorship and Collaboration: Invite established artists from diverse fields to serve as mentors, collaborators, and advocates for stigma reduction.
Opportunities for Advanced Training: Provide or connect selected art advocates with higher training opportunities, including scholarships, apprenticeships, and grants.
Exhibition Platforms: Create opportunities for selected art advocates to showcase their works that convey stigma-reduction messages.
Fundraising for Advocacy Projects: Raise funds to support art advocacy projects targeting marginalized communities facing stigma and discrimination.
Arts-Related Projects and Events: Plan and execute projects and events aimed at reducing stigma through the arts, or for the sustainability of the organization.
Research and Partnerships: Conduct research on stigma and discrimination as a basis for program development and create partnerships with supportive individuals and organizations.
These objectives collectively aim to empower individuals, reduce stigma, and promote a culture of empathy and acceptance within society.
